Policies and General Guidelines

With any new exercise program, consult with your healthcare provider if you have concerns or any of the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy
  • Past Injuries Re: bones, muscles, joints, cartilage, or spinal discs
  • Chronic Disease or Illness
  • Osteoporosis, Arthritis
  • Prescription Drug Requirements
  • History of: Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Smoking, Heart, Lung, or Blood Disease

Other guidelines:

  • Completion of enrollment forms is due before the first session. Please attempt to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure your full session. Full payment is due before the start of the session and cash or check is accepted. No refunds are given.

  • All private lessons are (50-55) min in length, unless otherwise specified, and require a 24 hour notice for cancellations. In the winter, if North Kansas City Schools are closed, the studio is closed.
  • Arriving on time ensures your full session, as no exceptions or extensions are made for late arrival. Repeatedly arriving (10) minutes late or more during your package of sessions, or inconsistent attendance in general, can mean the loss of your standing appointment time.
  • Wear clothing fitted or semi-fitted to your body, comfortable for movement, and providing adequate coverage. You may exercise in socks or barefoot. Refrain from wearing jewelry or long hair down as they could get caught in the equipment. Also avoid heavy creams, lotions, oils or perfumes that may stain the equipment or increase the risk of slipping.
  • Honor the commitment to your mind and body health and turn off your cell phone. I will do the same.
  • It is recommended to practice Pilates 2-3 times per week to experience the benefits.

I invite you to “listen to your body, seek to understand your body, and empower your body to change.”

Best Wishes, Sarah
